Forum would not exist without submissions from members!  All members are encouraged to send ideas, suggestions and comments – Forum staff wants to hear from you! If you are not yet a member Join Us, and indulge your inner muse.

First Person Essays

Mothers & More Forum seeks a sense of balance in every issue.  We try to include material of interest for mothers in all stages of mothering; whether they are young moms, seasoned moms, and whether they work for pay or not.  We do not print parenting “how-to” articles or articles about child-rearing.  Each article should have its primary emphasis on the mother’s experience.

Multi-Source Features

Multi-source features are fact-based articles and are assigned by the Features Editor.  There are two ways in which topics are assigned:  You may suggest a topic and get an OK to go ahead, or a list of article topics to choose from can be provided.  Multi-source features are from 1,300-2,000 words long, including sidebars. Essays

Essays should be approximately 500 to 900 words in length.  They are much more personal in tone than multi-source features.  Essay submissions or questions about writing essays for Forum should be directed to info@mothersandmore.org.

Style

The Associated Press Stylebook is used as our main guide.  We will edit for length, clarity and style.  Writers may be asked to revise articles accepted for submission.

Compensation

We do not have a budget large enough to pay our contributors.  Contributors are free to submit their articles to another publication after it appears in Forum.

Submission Details

Articles must be submitted in either Word or RTF, either as an email attachment or in the body of an email.  Our editorial staff will read every submission. Faxed or handwritten submissions will not be accepted. Please send electronic submissions by email to info@mothersandmore.org.
