Mothers Across the Country are Invited to Let Their Voices be Heard

Elmhurst, Illinois - Mothers & More, the women’s organization for mothers, is conducting a nation-wide survey of mothers.  As part of its 20th birthday celebration, the organization is inviting all mothers across the country to share how they have changed since becoming mothers, how they feel society views them and the work they do, and what changes they would like to see on behalf of all mothers.

The survey can be taken online at www.mothersandmore.org between January 15, 2008 and March 31, 2008.  All mothers are invited to participate, whether or not they are members of Mothers & More.  Survey results will be made available in April 2008.

“This survey invites women to share their real life experiences as mothers, the good, the bad and the ugly” says Joanne Brundage, executive director of Mothers & More.  “No matter whether they’re in the paid workplace or not, all mothers do unpaid work caring for their families, and that unpaid work has real social and economic value.  We want to identify common barriers mothers face in their everyday lives, by surveying how mothers view themselves and how they feel others view them, related to their role as a mother and their work as a mother.”

Mothers & More is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy.  The organization addresses mothers’ needs as individuals and members of society, and promotes the value of all the work mothers do.
