We focus on you – as a mother and a woman – in all the different stages of your life. Our nearby chapters and virtual networks help you re-connect with yourself, make meaningful connections with other mothers, and help you find your MORE as you face motherhood's challenges.
Being a Mom is tough enough, so we made it easier to find what you need. We expanded menus to show more of our site content, including some members-only resources - these have “grayed-out” or “muted” page names if you are not logged in. Let us know your thoughts.
Join in May and keep an extra $10 in your purse! New members may join for $35 (regularly $45).
This year Power Of A Purse focuses on how we manage our purses. Not the comb, snacks, toys, and cosmetics, but the economic power we hold.
Power of a Purse programs are off and running with chapter members across the country demonstrating their dedication to improving the lives of mothers. This year we have had an amazing opportunity to partner with nearly 50 Lord & Taylor stores to make our initiative even more successful. Associates at the stores donated purses, as well as personal care items for the Power of a Purse program during the first week of May. This partnership, in collaboration with local chapters, will surely help us to reach even more mothers in need. We are still gathering up purses and personal care items, so stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.
In this issue of Forum we “Celebrate the Power of Mothers” by reflecting on our Mothers & More Mother’s Day seasons from 2003 through 2012. We also republished two thought provoking Classic Forum articles. Kristin Maschka reflects on some of the short and long term financial consequences of stepping out of the workforce in “Social Security and Today’s Mother.” And Debra Levy interviews author Ann Crittenden about “The Price of Motherhood.”
